The maintenance team suggested that the company replace the diesel fuel with qualified products, install a high-precision fuel filter (10μm precision), and regularly drain the water in the fuel tank. At the same time, the corroded 0R-3190 injectors were replaced with original parts. After the improvement, the failure rate of the injectors decreased by 80%, and the maintenance cost was significantly reduced. The maintenance experts emphasized that fuel quality is the key to the service life of Caterpillar injectors, and effective fuel management can avoid corrosion faults.
