Internal Wear of Caterpillar Injector 0R-3002 Causes Pressure Drop
A chemical plant in Hebei found that the Caterpillar compressor set equipped with 0R-3002 diesel injectors had a significant drop in injection pressure during operation, which led to insufficient engine power and could not meet the production needs. The maintenance team carried out a comprehensive inspection of the injectors.
The maintenance technicians used a professional pressure tester to detect the 0R-3002 injectors and found that the injection pressure dropped from the standard 19-21MPa to 15MPa, which was far below the normal range. After disassembling the injectors, it was found that the internal plunger and cylinder sleeve of the injectors were severely worn, resulting in poor sealing and pressure drop. The reason for the wear was that the fuel filter was not replaced regularly, and the impurities in the fuel entered the injectors, causing abrasive wear of the plunger and cylinder sleeve.
The maintenance team replaced the worn plunger and cylinder sleeve of the 0R-3002 injectors, and replaced the fuel filter and fuel pipeline. After maintenance and pressure adjustment, the injection pressure of the injectors returned to the standard range, and the compressor set resumed normal production. The maintenance personnel reminded that regular replacement of the fuel filter is crucial to prevent internal wear of Caterpillar 0R-3002 injectors and ensure stable injection pressure.
