Clogging of Fuel Channel of Caterpillar Injector 0R-0471/0R0471 Causes No Injection
A construction company in Fujian reported that a Caterpillar bulldozer equipped with 0R-0471 (universal number 0R0471) diesel injectors suddenly stopped injecting fuel during operation, resulting in the bulldozer stalling and unable to work. The maintenance team rushed to the site to carry out fault diagnosis.
The maintenance technicians first checked the fuel supply system and found that the fuel pump was working normally, and the fuel pressure was within the standard range. After disassembling the 0R-0471 injectors, it was found that the internal fuel channel was completely blocked by colloidal substances and impurities, and the fuel could not pass through the channel to the nozzle, resulting in no injection. The reason for the blockage was that the bulldozer had been parked for a long time, and the diesel fuel in the injectors had deteriorated and produced colloids, which blocked the fuel channel.
The maintenance team used ultrasonic cleaning equipment and professional cleaning agents to thoroughly clean the internal fuel channel of the 0R-0471 injectors, and replaced the fuel filter and fuel pipeline. After reassembly, the injectors resumed normal injection, and the bulldozer started normally. The maintenance experts suggested that when Caterpillar 0R-0471 and 0R0471 injectors are parked for a long time, the fuel in the injectors should be drained to avoid fuel deterioration and channel blockage.
