Wear of Nozzle of Caterpillar Injector 0R-3190 Causes Uneven Injection
A mining company in Inner Mongolia found that the Caterpillar mining excavators equipped with 0R-3190 diesel injectors had uneven engine power output during operation, and there was obvious jitter when accelerating. After professional testing, the problem was caused by the wear of the nozzle of the 0R-3190 injectors.
The maintenance technicians tested the injectors and found that the injection flow rate of each 0R-3190 injector varied greatly, with a difference of more than 15%, which led to uneven power output of the engine. After disassembling the injectors, it was found that the nozzle holes were severely worn, and the shape of the nozzle holes was deformed, resulting in uneven fuel injection. The reason for the wear was that the excavators worked in a high-dust environment for a long time, and the dust entered the injectors, causing abrasive wear of the nozzles.
The maintenance team replaced the worn nozzles of the 0R-3190 injectors with original parts, and installed dust-proof sleeves for the injectors to prevent dust from entering. After maintenance and debugging, the injection flow rate of the injectors was uniform, and the engine power output was stable. The maintenance personnel reminded that for Caterpillar injectors working in high-dust environments, it is necessary to install dust-proof devices and regularly clean the injectors to avoid nozzle wear.
