Oil Leakage at Nozzle of Caterpillar Injector 0R-3190 Causes Fuel Waste
A transportation company in Shandong found that the Caterpillar heavy-duty trucks equipped with 0R-3190 diesel injectors had oil leakage at the nozzle, and a small amount of fuel dripped from the nozzle when the engine was idling, resulting in serious fuel waste. The company arranged maintenance personnel to carry out fault treatment.
The maintenance technicians checked the 0R-3190 injectors and found that the nozzle needle valve was worn, and the sealing performance between the needle valve and the valve seat was poor, leading to oil leakage at the nozzle. In addition, the injection pressure of the injectors was too low, which also aggravated the oil leakage. The reason for the wear of the needle valve was that the company used low-quality diesel fuel, and the impurities in the fuel caused abrasive wear of the needle valve.
The maintenance team replaced the worn needle valve and valve seat of the 0R-3190 injectors, adjusted the injection pressure to the standard range, and replaced the fuel filter. After maintenance, the oil leakage at the nozzle was eliminated, and the fuel waste was reduced. The maintenance experts suggested that using high-quality diesel fuel and regularly checking the needle valve wear can effectively avoid oil leakage at the nozzle of Caterpillar 0R-3190 injectors.
