Vibration Damage of Caterpillar Injector 0R-3190 Causes Internal Component Loosening

A mining company in Gansu reported that the Caterpillar mining vehicles equipped with 0R-3190 diesel injectors had frequent injector failures, and the internal components of the injectors were often loose. After professional investigation, the reason was the vibration damage of the injectors.
The mining vehicles often work on uneven roads, and the vibration amplitude is large, which causes the internal components of the 0R-3190 injectors (such as the pressure regulating spring and valve plate) to loosen and even fall off, leading to abnormal injection and engine failure. In addition, the fixing bolts of the injectors were not tightened according to the standard torque, which also aggravated the vibration damage.
The maintenance team tightened the fixing bolts of the 0R-3190 injectors according to the standard torque, and installed shock-absorbing pads between the injectors and the engine to reduce vibration. At the same time, the loose internal components of the injectors were re-fixed and replaced the damaged components. After improvement, the failure rate of the injectors was significantly reduced. The maintenance experts suggested that for Caterpillar injectors working in high-vibration environments, shock-absorbing measures should be taken and the fixing bolts should be checked regularly to avoid component loosening caused by vibration.
