Oil Leakage Fault of Caterpillar Injector 0R-3190 Affects Equipment Safety
A mining company in Shandong encountered an oil leakage problem in the Caterpillar 0R-3190 diesel injectors equipped on its mining dump trucks, which not only caused fuel waste but also posed a potential safety hazard. The company immediately contacted a professional maintenance agency to carry out fault diagnosis and maintenance.
After on-site inspection, the maintenance personnel found that the oil leakage was concentrated at the connection between the injector body and the cylinder head, and a small amount of oil stains were also found on the surface of the injector. By disassembling the 0R-3190 injectors, it was found that the sealing gasket between the injector and the cylinder head was severely aged and deformed, and the sealing surface of the injector body had slight wear, resulting in poor sealing and fuel leakage. In addition, during the daily maintenance process, the maintenance personnel did not torque the injector fixing bolts according to the standard requirements, leading to uneven force on the sealing gasket and accelerating its aging.
The maintenance team replaced the aging sealing gaskets with original parts, polished and repaired the worn sealing surface of the injector body, and tightened the fixing bolts according to the standard torque (15±2N・m). After the maintenance, the oil leakage fault was completely eliminated. The maintenance experts pointed out that the sealing performance of Caterpillar 0R-3190 injectors is crucial. Regular inspection of the sealing gaskets and correct torque operation during maintenance can effectively avoid oil leakage faults.
